$38 million in Clunkers cash for Colorado

The Cash for Clunkers car rebate program that ended this week brought in $37,676,500 in requests from Colorado, the Denver Business Journal reports.

Colorado ranks 25th among the 50 states and the District of Columbia in the amount of rebate money requested under the program, which expired Tuesday, according to a Denver Business Journal analysis of DOT data. . . .

In Colorado, an estimated 8,900 Coloradans traded in gas guzzlers under the program, the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association (CADA) said, basing its estimate on the federal rebate tally.
