CU-CSU showdown to return to Invesco Field

CU and CSU have announced that their annual Rocky Mountain Showdown will return to Invesco Field from 2010 to 2019, the Fort Collins Coloradoan reports. This year’s game will be played Sunday in Boulder.
As part of the deal extending the college football series, CSU agreed to forego hosting the game at its home stadium next year.
The long-term benefits of continuing the annual series against its long-term rival, coupled with the financial and public relations benefits of playing in Denver, outweighed the one-time edge of playing the game at CSU’s 34,400-seat stadium, Rams athletic director Paul Kowalczyk said.
